> What you can ask the assistant, what an answer looks like, and how to narrow a question by category, label, bank or counterparty.

## Your first question to the assistant

Once the connector is live, you can start with a question like:

> What is my balance right now, and how did it move over the last six months?

You should get a table with the figures, the period and the currency. If you
have more than one workspace, mention in the question which one you want the
answer for. If you don't, the assistant asks, and then remembers for the rest of
the conversation.

## What you can ask

Questions can be written exactly the way you would say them out loud: "total
inflows from the first of April until today", "total results for last semester",
"results for this September against last September". Don't worry about
mistyping a word — the assistant handles typos and missing diacritics.

<Note>
Questions marked with a <strong>\*</strong> are answered by the assistant
reasoning over ThinkOut's historical totals. For now they are not based on
ThinkOut forecasts or budgets — the assistant tells you which period and which
assumptions it used, and you can read them as a documented interpretation of
the past, not as a projection.

## What an answer looks like

Every answer states the period it covers and the currency, so you can check what
the assistant understood before you rely on the figures.

## Filtering and grouping

You can narrow a question by as many criteria as you like at once, just as on
the cash flow screen: category, label, bank, account, counterparty.

Grouping works by day, week or month, optionally with one further dimension:
counterparty, category, label, account or bank. When you do not add a second
dimension, each period also shows its starting balance, transfers, excluded
movements and ending balance.
